One Color
There is so much prejudice in the world,
Starting with the shades of color of someone’s skin.
Judging, disliking and mistreating, instead of loving or liking a person from within.
The outer shell is all, some of us see.
When God made each and every person, this is not how he wanted us to be.
We’re supposed to love each other as sisters and brothers,
And look out for one another.
There shouldn’t be groups of people separated.
As if you saying, “Stay with your own kind,”
And making things all complicated.
We’re teaching our children, the wrong way to be.
They’re young and don’t understand, so they mimic what they see.
We as adults are in control of the prejudice in the world.
In order to stop it, we must first make change within ourselves,
And stop judging, by someone’s color, of every boy and girl.
Our world is full of many colors that we see …
Red, blue green, orange, purple, brown and burgundy.
We see these colors as one.
We all wake up to the same bright shining sun.
We all share these colors every day,
Without having anything to say.
So why is it such a problem, such an issue?
When someone looks different from you?
With just a couple of words,
I must educate a few…
No one is better than another.
No one is superior than the other.
We all sleep, eat and bleed.
We all work to succeed.
We all have differences too.
No one acts the same, thinks the same.
We’re different shapes and sizes…
But it’s time for everyone to realize this …
When it comes to, the color of our skin,
We need to see, that there is only one color…and
That color is…..HUMAN!
