Today marks an equinox, an event that occurs twice each year when our planet tilts neither toward nor away from the sun. For us in the United States, this particular equinox marks the first day of spring. Depending on where you live, you may have already heard, seen or smelled certain things that usually signal the arrival of spring. Here in Greater Washington DC, the famous cherry blossoms along the Tidal Basin serve as the most recognizable sign that spring has indeed arrived.
